The BD FACSymphony? S6 was built on the reliability and performance of the BD FACSAria Fusion cell sorter and the innovative optics of the BD FACSymphony A5 cell analyzer. It provides sorting capabilities that enable the isolation of populations previously only available for analysis through high parameter analyzers. Together, BD’s high parameter instruments allow for transfer of high parameter panels to drive deep scientific insights without the hassle of repeating the panel design process.

The BD FACSymphony S6 has been designed to allow you to drive your research forward in a way that has not been possible previously. 60 parameters of detection with low noise electronics and PMT detectors combined with optics designed to maximize signal collection, including the BD patented gel-coupled cuvette, provide excellent sensitivity to resolve dim populations and explore the nuances of marker expression. Once you’ve resolved the populations, you can sort up to 6 of them simultaneously, saving you time and moving you quickly towards discovery.

Additionally, index sorting allows you to review the cell-surface phenotype of every cell sorted into a plate or slide in order to support downstream experimental observations.

It’s built with the security of BD FACS™ Accudrop technology which enables high-performance sort results by maintaining an optimal breakoff and pausing the sort when necessary to protect the purity of the sorted sample.

Ultimate flexibility to meet your assay’s needs

Configure the BD FACSymphony S6 cell sorter through the BD Special Order Research Product (SORP) program in multiple ways to design the system which meets your applications needs:

  • Choose up to 9 spatially-separated lasers from over 25 wavelength options. Available laser powers may vary depending on the wavelength.
  • Features high parameter cascade (HPC) arrays for up to 20 parameters on a single laser line.
  • Removable filters can be completely customized for optimal detection of dyes and fluorescent proteins.
  • A multitude of sort collection devices are provided with new flexibility to change tubes and holders without stopping the sort. Sort up to six ways at one time.
  • High-precision interchangeable nozzles are available for a wide range of cell size support: 70, 85, and 100 um nozzles are standard. 130 μm nozzles are also available.
  • Have peace of mind through field upgrade support, including the addition of new laser lines or additional parameters in the future, and the biosafety cabinet after purchase.
  • Collection options include 5 mL, 15 mL and 50 mL tubes, microcentrifuge tubes, and 96- and 384-well plates. An angled plate adapter option is available to help assist with recovery of cell droplets when sorting into 96-well plate formats.

The BD FACSymphony S6 has been designed with safety in mind. In collaboration with The Baker Company, the biosafety cabinet (BSC) has been verified to meet National Sanitation Foundation International Standard 49, the European Standard 12469, the China Standard SFDA YY- 0569:2005 and the Australian Standard AS 2252.2– 2009 for personnel and product protection.

The biosafety cabinet and the FACSymphony S6 fit together seamlessly, so you can order the sorter now and upgrade with the BSC later as a field upgrade that takes less than one day to install.

Additionally, the independent aerosol management system (AMS) rapidly evacuates any aerosols contained in the sort chamber and traps any particulates in a dedicated AMS HEPA filter.

Prototypes of BD Horizon Brilliant™ dyes (-P)

BD Life Sciences is committed to continuing to develop new BD Horizon Brilliant dyes across various laser lines to improve the spectral properties of dyes and minimize the need for compensation in higher-order panels.

BD FACSymphony™ system owners receive early access to a suite of prototype dyes for use in high parameter panel design. Although these dyes are near completion and have received initial quality specifications, they may undergo additional development that could result in minor performance changes. The –P nomenclature indicates the prototypic nature of the dyes, and any significant changes to the structure of the dye to optimize performance will be appropriately communicated to customers.
